Swarnagiri Temple, Bhuvanagiri

Yesterday’s event was a blissful opportunity for me as I visited Swarnagiri Temple, now considered the Largest Venkateshwara Temple. Situated in Bhuvanagiri, approximately 50 kilometers from Hyderabad city center.

The Swarnagiri Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Venkateswara. It sits atop a hill and was constructed by the Manepalli family, consecrated in 2024. Built in the Dravidian style of architecture, the temple features four Rajagopurams (gateway towers) on all four sides.

The primary deity of the temple is a 12-foot-tall statue of Lord Venkateswara, reputedly the largest in Telangana. Crafted from black granite, the statue is adorned with gold and silver ornaments and is flanked by statues of his consorts, Sridevi and Bhudevi.

Additionally, the temple boasts several mandapams (halls) including a Mahamandapam (main hall), a Kalyana Mandapam (wedding hall), and a Yagasala (sacrificial hall).

During my visit, I had the opportunity to interact with the Manepalli family, who happen to be our neighbors. They provided us with a detailed tour and granted permission to record clips. They also shared the inspiring story and miracles that motivated them to build this magnificent temple.  Their dedication spanned over nine years to turn their dream into reality, enriching the lives of devotees worldwide.

The temple was consecrated on March 7, 2024, by Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swami, a revered spiritual leader from the Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh.
