Kemmannugundi Trek

Kemmannugundi (which means Red Soil Pit) is a hill station in Chikkamagaluru district in the state of Karnataka, India. It is at an elevation of 4700 ft above sea level, with its peak at 6200 ft. This station is part of Baba Budan Giri Range (the second tallest peak in Karnataka), with cascades, mountain streams, and lush vegetation.

Kemmangundi Z Point is a vantage point at Kemmangundi which requires moderate efforts to reach and is popular for Weekend Treks from Bangalore, which we embarked upon today. Here is the bird’s view from one of the vantage points, which gives the view of the level of risk involved, and panoramic views that we got showered with.
