During the recent trip to Sikkim, we had an opportunity to experience multiple HomeStay experiences. We stayed overnight at homestay in Lachung with the beautiful family of Lachugpa Hishey. We also visited a homestay “Burpeepal Holiday Cottage” in Ranipal (just outside Gangtok) which is beautifully built in the valley setup by Neeraj, who coincidently studied in the same college that I went to, and at the same time. His family hosted us for a hi-tea. It’s easily a must-stay place if you are traveling to Gangtok. I have documented my experiences here so that anyone heading to Sikkim can refer to this information.
Burpeepal Holiday Cottage
We had a chance to spend time at below holiday cottage / homestay “Burpeepal Holiday Cottage”, just outside Gangtok. It’s a perfect place for a getaway if you are in the region. The host of this place is my batch-mate “Neeraj” from JNTU college, who extended amazing hospitality for our group. Here is the bird’s eye view of this holiday cottage and pics from our experience
Neeraj says, Burpeepal is a Cottage with premium facilities catering to the tourists wanting to spend time in nature. It is located near the stream which is ideal for fishing. The walk from the house is through an interesting jungle walk within the property, as seen in the video clip that gives glimpses of our experience. Bird watching is another activity the tourists can enjoy, given the beautiful and serene surroundings. There are several jungle treks, monastic treks, short treks, Orange Orchard treks from the Cottage. They have facilities for organizing Bon fire adjacent to the front lawn for our guests designed to create memorable moments during the visit to the Burpeepal
