Pocharam Reservoir

Pocharam is located around 20 km away from Medak) boasts of a reservoir that is built between 1916-1922 over Allair, a tributary of the River Manjeera.     Thanks to recent monsoons, this 100-year old reservoir is brimming with water.

We took a drive to that region, after a brief stop at Narsapur Forest. The reservoir serves as a storage point on the Allair River and is also a favorite picnic spot for travelers who thoroughly enjoy fishing at this reservoir.

Medak can be reached by the NH7 highway from Hyderabad within two hours.

Enroute to Medak, we heard the huge sound of gushing water and noticed a high-speed rivulet (Vaagu), stopped our car, and spent some time, and grabbed our snack here. I guess effect of good Monsoon is seen all over Telangana
