Despite crazy schedules within each of us individual families hosting other relatives, all of us 4 brothers and sister and extended family met as one BIG family for 3 hours to participate in Diwali Pooja event hosted in traditional style by Sharadha and Suresh. Sharadha made us all wear Marathi style traditional hats (as per tradition from her hometown Bhongir).
The ritual involves women giving an ode using diyas lighted on the silver plate, to deities of home, and then to all men and boys in the family, followed by lunch with Diwali delicacies.
