Kashmir 2011

Six years ago this week, I was in Pahalgam, with the hope of traveling to the Holy Shrine, Amarnath Temple.  Since I was with my parents, we opted for a helicopter ride.  However, due to strong winds and usual terror threads, we could not get clearance to take off from the Helipad.  We used the opportunity to chill out in Pahalgam, Jammu, and Gulmarg.

We took a horseback ride to Pahalgam hill top which offers great views of the valley, and access to beautiful scenic views, hence the place is known as mini Switzerland. The ride to the top was quite wild due to the steep hills and was not fully assisted.   Since horses were well-trained, it was considered pretty safe.

Since I started blogging in 2012, pics from this trip did not make it to the blog. I used my free time this weekend, to archive the pics in the blog.
