Anybody Can Paint !!

Ramana (my colleague) came to my desk and said; Ascendas IT park team is conducting a unique luncheon event with a unique food-art experience theme. He said, I would likely to enjoy the event. He said, it was an exclusive event, and only senior management folks belong to all the tenants (i.e., IT Companies in the park) were invited. He told me about this event at 12:30PM, and the session has scheduled to begin at 12 Noon. I asked Raghav to accompany me to the event, and we did not know really know what to expect. We walked across the campus for about 15 minutes to reach the event, so we were late to the event by 45 minutes.

As soon as we entered the auditorium, we saw several dozens of folks busy painting layers of colors on the painting board, which is nicely anchored on a stand. Entire setup appeared slick. Since we were late, team from “Anybody Can Paint” crew helped us with dozen steps (or less) that we missed, which included applying first few layers of colors, and colors of the tree and leaves.   We eventually caught up with rest of the team.

Entire experience was meditative, unwinding, and lots of fun. It is a great team building exercise, and plenty of takeaways for the leadership team, if the event is moderated by organisation’s L&D team. This is a professional event conducted by “AnyBody Can Paint” and their website can be accessed via www.anybodycanpaint.in. They are happy to set it up for various team sizes based on corporate needs.  It can be a nice family event too, if the family is big enough or a community event within our colony / residence. I think the cost which is less than INR 2000 per person.

I had asked Abhijeet (the cool chap who grooved to Happy song around Hyderabad) to capture few moments from yesterday’s experience. Entire setting reminded me a scene from TAARE ZAMEER PER movie. So I chose to use the awesome sound track for my experiential blog.

Open the doors,
Move the curtains to the side,
The wind is tied by a stopper,
Let’s set it free.

Come with your kite,
Of any colour you like,
The sky is a tent
And we’ve to paint it today.*

So why are you shocked now?
You’re the season’s guest,
The world is decorated for you,
Recognze yourself.**

You’re the sunshine, shatter and spread,
You’re the river, oh uninformed one,
Flow somewhere, fly somewhere,
Wherever your heart will be happy, that is your destination.

So why are you shocked now?
You’re the season’s guest.

Stale life is depressing,
Fresh (life) is ready to laugh,
It’s steaming hot
As though just taken out.***

Oh life is a sweet biscuit,
What a sweet sweet hope,
Savour it, keep it,
Cover it with your palm.

If there’s thirst in you,
The house of the rains is close by,
Why would anyone stop you?
The sky is by your side.

You’re the sunshine, shatter and spread,
You’re the river, oh uninformed one,
Flow somewhere, fly somewhere,
Wherever your heart will be happy, that is your destination.

It’s open, the path through the sky is open.
It’s found, the lost star is found.
It’s found…

The earth was lit,
The world shone/twinkled,
You’re free to fly,
Where’s the bond now?^

You’re the sunshine, shatter and spread,
You’re the river, oh uninformed one,
Flow somewhere, fly somewhere,
Wherever your heart will be happy, that is your destination.

So why are you shocked now?
You’re the season’s guest.
