CigniPix Team (group of Photography enthusiasts from Cigniti) spent few hours at Buddha Statue of Hyderabad this morning, as part of the inaugural field trip event. I have never been to the pedestal area where Buddha statue has been installed, sp this is first time for me and most of the folks in today’s trip. I have been seeing the statue from a distant, as I drive by the tank bund road for decades now.
I still vividly remember the days when Buddha statue was being carved in a small village (Raigiri) an hours away from Hyderabad, and the shocking news when Buddha statue fell down into the lake while being transported to the pedestal area. Wiki says, It is the world’s tallest monolith of Gautama Buddha, and stands at 58 feet (18 m) and weighs 350 tons. It is consecrated by HH Dalia Lama in 2006
Below Video link shot on GoPro gives up close and personal view of Monolith Statue from various angles, and along with few glimpses from as I reached the venu via motor cycle, car, mechanised boat, and speed boat.
Here are few pics from the event.

You are always an inspiration Sai.. The way you spin events into stories is something I would love to learn.
